Maya Devi Temple
In the heart of the Lumbini Gardens, the Maya Devi Monastery, one of Nepal’s holiest and oldest Buddhist temples, is well-known. At the heart of Lumbini tourism is the Maya Devi Temple, the real prize of the place where Gautam Buddha was born. The place is very calm and quiet, really tidy, well organized and well maintained. In this place, you can spend many hours roaming, meditating, and finding yourself. Please spend at least a couple of hours having fun here.
The Birthplace of Buddha
Maya Devi Temple, the place where Gautam Buddha was born, and the palace’s remains are in this building. A stone is put and idolized where there has been a birth. Within the UNESCO World Heritage site, the complex contains several brick stupas and monasteries, a holy pool, and a garden. Before giving birth to the Buddha, Pushkarini, the holy pool is assumed to be the bathed Queen Maya Devi’s location. At the same time, the sacred garden is the place to see saffron-robed monks gathered under a tree of old Bodhi, the colorful Ashoka pillar dating from the 3rd century BCE, adorned with colorful prayer flags.
You can easily explore the ruins on an elevated boardwalk linking famous sites and walk through them. I hope you’ll love the Maya Devi Temple and the Lumbini Garden, as it’s the spot where Buddha was born in Nepal. Very well with a venue for love and peace. I have come to this place several times as a guide, visiting Buddha’s birthplace to experience peace once in a lifetime!
